Disneyland!

This past December my family went to Disneyland. This had been something we were saving up for, for a couple years and we were SO excited to finally get to take our kids. It was an absolute blast. Aiden was almost 4 and Peyton was 7 months.

The whole time leading up to the trip we had told Aiden that we were driving to Disneyland and that we would have to be in the car for a loooong time. He understood and told everyone that would listen about how he would bring a backpack full of toys to entertain himself on the loooong drive.
On the morning of our departure we got to surprise him by taking him to the AIRPORT. He was so ecstatic to ride on an airplane that he quickly forgave us for tricking him.
Here he is with our "countdown chain" this was 60 days to go

This is the morning of our trip with last LAST ring of the countdown chain. WOO HOO!

When we boarded our plane I remember being super nervous that the take off would hurt the kids' ears. Luckily neither of them seemed to notice or care. Thank you Lord! We had a stop in Sacramento and while we were waiting in line to use the (tiny) bathroom we struck a conversation with a cute family that was taking their 4 year old son to Disneyland for the first time. It was adorable to hear the boys talk about all the rides they were going to go on and all the characters they were going to meet. They were fast friends and we ran into them later at baggage claim, so we decided to snap a picture.

Once we had our bags we hitched a ride from a shuttle to the car rental place and picked up our mini-van. I hadn't been in a mini-van since I was a kid but man-oh-man those things have a ton of room! Micah was not pleased with how fast I fell in love with the van. He is an SUV guy all the way. :) Anyway....
We found our hotel room, and while unloading our stuff into our room we realized that we were STARVING! We had to be to the airport by 7am that morning and aside from the airplane peanuts that were served during the flight, we hadn't eaten a thing! We found a Red Robin (and proceeded to wait 45 min at our table before our drink order was even taken- we would have walked out but the smell of fries kept us glued to our seats) once we had finished eating (2.5 hrs after we arrived) we took a quick stroll through Downtown Disney to get us pumped up for the next morning then headed back to our room to get some rest before our first day in the park. This is was Aiden looked like about 4 minutes after we walked in the door:

Can't wait to share the details of the rest of our trip! It was such a blast!
But now...the Monday chores are calling my name!

It's been a year!

Yep! That title says it all. It's been a year since I have visited this little blog.
Although my start was slow, I am pressing on. :)

This past year has brought many changes, the biggest change has been the birth of our beautiful daughter and all the adjustments that come along with have 2 kids instead of one.

We are loving life and wouldn't change a thing! Here are some pics of Peyton's arrival:

Here goes nothing!

Here I go. Trying to dive into the blogging world. It has been a while since I have felt so NOT tech-savvy. Hopefully I will get the hang of it soon.

I am doing this mostly so I will have a place to look back and remember my life in these seasons that pass so quickly.  So here goes nothing!
